Syrian British Academic Association Participates in Discussions on Education Development in Syria
Invited by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, the Syrian British Academic Association (SBAA), represented by board member Dr Mustafa Al-Khalaf, participated in a meeting with the Syrian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr Marwan Al-Halabi, and the Minister of Education, Dr Mohammad Abdulrahman Turko, alongside a number of academics and individuals interested in Syrian educational affairs in the United Kingdom.
During the meeting, the ministers reviewed the current state of general and higher education in Syria, as well as the challenges facing the educational sector at the present stage. Discussions also addressed several future plans aimed at developing educational institutions and improving educational outcomes.
The meeting further explored ways to strengthen scientific research and expand academic cooperation between Syria and the United Kingdom, contributing to the advancement of education and the exchange of academic expertise and knowledge.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to introduce the Syrian Ministry of Higher Education to the Syrian British Academic Association, its objectives, and its readiness to contribute to supporting the education and scientific research sectors in Syria through future academic initiatives and collaborations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the ministers welcomed the proposed initiatives and expressed their willingness to cooperate with initiatives aimed at supporting education and scientific research development in Syria.
